From Zero to A11y: Building An Accessibility Culture

Building a culture of accessibility can be a daunting task, but when you consider the one billion people who experience some form of disability, there's no better time to get started than now. We’ll cover tips for revamping an existing app, how to spread knowledge throughout your engineering org, and incremental changes you can make to ensure accessibility & inclusive design are an integral part of your processes-from product planning to QA & everything in between. You'll leave with insight on navigating roadblocks and a framework with examples to begin shaping your own accessibility culture.



Ayesha Mazumbar


Ayesha Mazumdar currently works across multiple teams at Pinterest as a Senior UX Engineer, previously she was at Optimizely where she collaborates with engineers and designers on Optimizely’s design system, component library, and application frontend. She also worked on the Lightning Design System at Salesforce where she focused on building accessible components for the engineering organization. Outside of work, she mentors students at the Holberton School to help empower people from all backgrounds to succeed in the tech industry.
